Whatever your level of sewing, if the garment you are making does not fit properly, it will not look as good as it could. In this class, you will learn fitting techniques and how to apply the changes to your pattern. Students will learn how to properly construct and fit a muslin, or mock-up, of the pattern. A discussion of fabric grain, horizontal balance lines, and how to use drafting tools will be included. At the end of the class, each student will have a custom-fitted muslin and the subsequent pattern alterations to be able to make the jacket from a fashion fabric. If time allows, we will go over some simple design changes that can be made to create a unique jacket.
