The location may have changed, but the same quality you expect from the Guild remains, as the Pennsylvania Guild Fine Craft Festival moves to Montgomery County Community College on October 18 & 19 for its annual offering of contemporary and traditional crafts.
The craft festival had been hosted at Tyler State Park in Bucks County for 26 years, but after the Guild moved its headquarters to art-friendly downtown Lancaster, the show had to also find a new home. The Guild explored options including Bucks Community College, the Grange Fairgrounds and five other locations but finally selected Montgomery County Community College based on the major road access, large paved parking lot and expansive grounds.
Celebrate the new location with live music from Acoustic Roadshow, festival foods, face-painting, kettlecorn, demonstrations and much more. The real stars of the show are the 120 fine craftspeople and artists who blend style, excellence and skill, to bring you the best in functional and decorative home décor, designer clothing, jewelry, gifts, furniture and more.
Meet the artist and learn the story behind the authentically handmade work. Each item, whether a piece of pottery or framed art, has been designed, created and finished by the artist represented in the booth. The Pennsylvania Guild’s Fine Craft Shows have long been premier events for those in search of what’s truly unique, and this fall’s show is no different.
As an educational, arts nonprofit, the Guild always provides the opportunity to observe 10 different demonstrations by master craftsmen. Learn what it takes to create individual masterpieces from glass beads, Shaker baskets, and stone sculpture. Also check out this year’s new addition, handweaving with William Leinbach. The demonstrations will be occurring every half hour to give you ample opportunity to see them all!
The craft fair isn’t only for those serious about great craft; it is fun for the whole family! Children under 12 get in for free, and will delight at the creativity from Face-painting by Rebecca. Other activities are planned.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 19. Admission is only $7, and you will receive $1 off with our special online coupon. And don’t forget, kids under 12 are absolutely free! Our new location of Montgomery County Community College is easy to access by major roads and there will be paved parking available. No pets please.
