A Simple Approach to Complex Pots – March 17 & 18
Handles, Knobs, and Decorations
Sat. & Sun., 10 am – 3 pm
Location: Kevin Lehman Pottery, Lancaster (Directions)
Instructor: Steve Witmer
Skill Level: Skill Builders/Intermediate
Whether throwing pots on a wheel, or hand-building, the addition of handles, knobs, and decoration can transform even a simple form into a one-of-a kind piece. In this two day workshop, students will explore the conception, construction, and decoration of the clay vessel with handles, knobs, and other decorative additions.
Steve Witmer begins the two day workshop with a presentation on additions. Students will have plenty of time both days to work either on the wheel or with hand-building to create work and embellish it with additions. Students should be able to walk away with at least one un-fired piece.
