February 22 – Wed: 10 am — 1 pm

Location: The Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington, DE (directions)

Registration Closed

The Delaware Art Museum is currently exhibiting a comprehensive retrospective on the life and work of American artist and illustrator Howard Pyle (open for viewing November 12, 2011 – March 4, 2012).

The day will begin with a welcome by Delaware Art Museum Executive Director Danielle Rice, followed by a docent guided tour through the exhibition which will last approximately 60 – 90 min.  The group will have an opportunity to explore the exhibit on their own, after which lunch will be provided at the Museum’s DelArt Cafe.

Join the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen on this Tour of Inspiration!  Delve into Pyle’s career; with images full of pirates, knights, justice, escape, heroism, and romance.  This exhibition takes a new look at his work and the cultural impact of his images and teachings.  There will be an opportunity to view works by some of his students – including N.C. Wyeth, Maxfield Parrish, and other acclaimed illustrators.
