Plein Aire Landscape – June 9

June 9– Sunday, 9 am – 4 pm

Location: Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, Stevens - (Directions)

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced – students should be proficient in their choice of media

Spend a day at the beautiful Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area with other artists.  This plein aire workshop concentrates on simplifying the landscape, creating effective compositions and dealing with the changes in light throughout the day.

Deena Ball offers tips, tricks, and instruction on how to select a subject, edit a landscape, bring emotion or mood into their imagery, how to work within the confines of a one-day painting, and how to set up and break down outside.

Supply List: Students may work in their choice of pastel, watercolor, acrylic, or oil paints.  Students should be proficient in their choice of media, and bring all materials necessary, including a surface to work on (easel & stool etc.)

Location: This workshop will take place outdoors and in a rural setting.  Please dress and plan accordingly (sunscreen, lunch, water, hat, jacket, sunglasses etc.)

Biography: Deena Ball holds a BA in Art from Colby College and has performed Graduate and Continuing Education Studies at Tyler School of Art and    Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. In addition, she has studied with numerous local instructors and exhibited in regional and national shows. She is a juried  member of the Guild and a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and Philadelphia Water Color Society.  She has taught at Marple  Newtown Leisure Services, Main Line Art Center, Wayne Art Center and JCC Kaiserman, and given private tutoring for portfolio prep for school admissions.
