student working 2Do you ever wish you could paint realistically – but with your favorite material, wool? In this 3-day workshop, you will create a realistic rug-hooked portrait of a favorite pet or animal. You will learn to use textured wool to create the many details, color and value changes which are found in all animals, whether you are hooking fur, hide, or feathers. You will develop the confidence to try new ideas or techniques to add realistic details to your work.

You may bring your own pattern and wool or coordinate with Judy to obtain a pattern and wool. Judy will contact you soon after your registration to confirm the details of your project. Advance planning will ensure that you have everything you need to bring your animal to life. Please refer to Judy’s website www.jcrugs.com for examples of her and her student’s rugs.
