Beginning Stained Glass
Saturday and Sunday, May 2nd and 3rd, 2020
9:00am – 4:00pm

This beginner stained class requires no prior experience and is the perfect way to get the feeling of working with glass panels.  The course will provide participants with an understanding of safety measures associated with working with glass, solder, lead came and chemicals used in creating works in stained glass.  Participants will be guided through an introduction to and use of the tools and techniques to create works in stained glass.  Students will learn how to score and break glass – both straight lines and curves; how to shape glass using grinder; copper foil techniques for preparing a panel for soldering; soldering and finishing the panel with a lead came frame.  Students will leave with a completed stained glass panel of approximately one square foot, choosing among several patterns provided by the instructor.
