Instructor: Susan Weaver

Skill Level: Beginner

Explore the art of hand-weaving by creating your own scarf. With looms threaded and ready to use, students begin throwing their shuttles back and forth through the beautiful organic cottons and novelty threads, including hemp.   It is rewarding to see your scarf develop into a flowing fabric, woven into a 65” long Spring Scarf.  No experience is necessary.

*** Please note *** A materials fee of $20 is due to the instructor at the time of the class.

About the Instructor:  Susan Weaver has been a handweaving instructor for over 30 years, teaching a variety of weaving structures.  After working as a Textile Educator for a number of years at a local PA German museum, she researched and wrote a book about traditional tape weaving, Handwoven Tape:  Understanding and Weaving Early American and Contemporary Tape. She is a member of the PA Guild of Craftsmen and the Central PA Guild of Weavers and sells her handweavings locally & nationally.
