• Holiday Tabletop Tree
    November 23, 2019
    10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Instructor: Suzi Nonn

Skill Level: Beginner

Spend a day creating a unique tabletop tree decorated with small swirling color ornaments!

In the morning, students will create a dozen gourdaments using alcohol inks. A glass-like finish will be applied to the gourdaments once they are decorated.  A handout will be given of where to find/buy all the necessary materials to make more for family and friends.  What a great way to do something for you now and something for everyone else later.

While the ornaments are drying, students will learn to spin branches and assemble a 24-inch tree with a wooden base. In the past, holiday feather trees were originally created by twisting bird feathers on wires to create branches and then attaching to a tree trunk. In this class, students will substitute felted wool for the feathers.

I want to thank Mary Annunziato and Jackie Burke for teaching me how to spin branches.

All materials needed to create 12 gourdaments and a felted tree are included in the tuition.
