• Indigo Dyeing for Kids
    September 11, 2021
    10:00 am - 12:30 pm
We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

Instructor: Carol Reed

Skill Level: Beginner

Explore the magic of Indigo dyeing with your child. We’ll create a synthetic indigo vat, learn some shibori or resist techniques using rubber bands and wooden sticks and then watch the magic as your creation emerges from the dye bath colored green and turns blue before your eyes. Each adult and child will make 2 bandanas (1 for each) and pair of bamboo socks for the adult.  Please bring an appropriately sized cotton t-shirt for your child to dye. Also, we’ll create some cards using wax resists (crayons!) to indigo dye. Fish scenes work wonderfully for this.

Please note *** A materials fee of $15 is included in the tuition.
