Skill Level: Beginner or Intermediate
Join Marjolaine on a two-day class to create a Nuno felt scarf, designed for beginners or intermediate. During this workshop, you will learn the technique to lay merino wool roving on silk to create a lightweight scarf. (Please note that this class requires standing most of the day.)
- Silk fabric: total of 1 yards of silk habotai (4-5 momme) 15” x 97” minimum
- 4 oz. merino roving combed top, 19 micron or less (colors can be mixed; two colors are nice)
- silk roving, silk hankies, bamboo fibers etc., for embellishment
- 2’ x 6’ Nylon curtain or tule, permeable mesh to cover fiber during
- 3’ pool noodle (you can tape two together)
- 6 ties (old nylon stocking is perfect)
- A measuring tape (plus note book)

About the Instructor:
Marjolaine Arsenault received a B.A. in Fine Arts, from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. Her background as a graphic designer and later on as a garden designer is reflected in all her pieces. Marjolaine is a fiber artist creating garments and accessories in a felt making process fusing hand-dyed silk and wool fiber to make seamless garments. Composition, color harmony and texture are integral to every one-of-a-kind creation. Marjolaine seeks to drape the body with style and beauty in contemporary pieces of wearable art. She travels the country to sell at various juried fine craft shows and to teach workshops. She was awarded the Collector’s Award at the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show and the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Chicago Botanical Garden Craft Show. Her collection was presented in the Electric City Fashion Shows in 2016 and 2017. Her garments were published in Worldwide Colors of Felt and Fiber Art Now. She is a member of the Northeast Feltmakers Guild.
The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen does not provide cash refunds for cancellation of classes unless the class is canceled by the instructor or the Guild.
